Geoff Charles’ photograph of Carneddog and Catrin Griffith looking out ‘across the distant hills’ as they prepared to leave their hill farm in Eryri became one of the Welsh-speaking Wales’ most iconic images. Apart from the tragic circumstances that led to it being taken, the picture came to represent the decline of a way of life, language and culture in rural Wales. This performance will include the conceptual album Carneddi in its entirety, as well as some of the background to the work and sharing of additional archival material.
