This course will be tailored for those who already have a basic understanding of the theory of building limes but want to learn more about different practical applications of lime plaster and lime render.

The course is an opportunity to work with different lime plasters ranging from traditional hotmixes to proprietary factory made products. We will look in more depth at the differences between air limes and hydraulic limes as well as demonstrating different lime based insulation plasters that are suitable for historic solid walled buildings.  We will cover plastering onto laths, boards and masonry on both walls and ceilings. We will also look at external renders and demonstrate the different options for weather protection and matching historic finishes.

This is a great chance to learn from tutors with years of lime plastering and lime rendering experience. It is suitable for contractors or homeowners alike, who already have some experience working with lime plasters.

Please bring your own lunch and snacks, as well as work clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty! We will provide the equipment, personal protective equipment, and all the materials you will need.
