This course is tailored for those who already have some experience working with building limes. It will be a full day of practical teaching focusing on typical solid stone rubble walls common in the National Park.

We'll show different methods of mixing both air limes and hydraulic limes. We'll cover how to rake out old mortars and demonstrate localised re-building of sections of loose walls. We'll also cover deep pointing, packing and the different pointing techniques and finishes to match historic mortars.  This is a hands-on day,  with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and learn from tutors with years of experience.

Please bring your own lunch and snacks, as well as work clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty! We will provide the equipment, personal protective equipment, and all the materials you will need.
